Acting as employer’s agent on behalf of Crest Nicholson, national property and construction consultancy Wakemans is well underway with the latest development at Bristol’s creative hub, Paintworks.
The firm’s Bristol office is advising on phase three of Paintworks, which is currently under construction.
Situated at the eastern edge of the site, the latest scheme is set to offer 4976 sq m of commercial floor space, including 16 commercial units, 11 live-work units and 210 homes – a mix of one and two bedroom apartments and three and four bedroom houses.
Tony Hooper, divisional director at Wakemans, said: “Paintworks is purpose-designed to create a sense of community and continues to prove very popular. This latest phase of commercial and residential space, which is targeting BREEAM Very Good and Level 3 Code for Sustainable Homes, will cement the development’s status as a desirable place to live and work.”
The £40million regeneration of a 2.47 hectare brownfield site in central Bristol is purpose-designed to create a sense of community. Located off Bath Road on the south bank of the River Avon, the project is just half a mile from Temple Meads railway station and within a mile of the shops and restaurants at Cabot Circus.
Wakemans reports that the commercial units have been built, with the remaining properties due for completion in November.

Intrepid journalists braved the ‘Beast from the East’ on 28 February to join leading British manufacturer Mereway at the launch of the new Signature collection.
The event was held in an 18th century Grade I-listed mansion house, Patshull Hall, in Staffordshire, that is being renovated into a family home.
Guests were welcomed with a glass of fizz and canapes and warmed by three huge roaring log fires in the entrance hall, the dining room and the kitchen, during their stay.
Mereway sales and marketing director Graham Jones made a presentation outlining the rationale behind the design development of the new Signature collection and introduced the live case study, the kitchen installed in Patshall Hall for owners Liam and Becki Wordley.
Graham said, “We were delighted that so many journalists braved the weather to join us at Patshull Hall, a unique home that provided a stunning backdrop for our launch.”
The event was supported by KitchenAid, a brand well loved by passionate cooks and the stunning collection of appliances included in the kitchen were demonstrated by Lisa Marley and her husband Nathan. Guests were treated to a display of delicious dishes and even given the opportunity to get hands on and decorate their own cupcakes.
The beautiful kitchen at Patshull Hall features a Light Grey door and cabinet, complemented by splashes of Tyrolean Blue on the island and inside the open shelves. The Banaba White composite worktop is complemented by a dramatic piece of Blue Agate quartz, one of the most expensive marbles available, inset into one of the islands.
The two large islands provide two cooking stations to cater for everything from family meals to parties and formal entertaining. One has a flexible induction hob and the other a Teppanyaki plate and a Sous Vide cooker, both with downdraft extraction.
A bank of large KitchenAid appliances provides two fridge freezers, a wine cabinet, steam and pyrolytic ovens, combination microwave and warming drawer.
The granite sink is a BLANCO SILGRANIT ®, renowned for its scratch, stain and heat-resistant qualities and this is teamed with a state of art hot tap, the Inventum Hotspot from Dutch hot tap manufacturer, Inventum. Interiors specialist Orac Décor supplied to order the celling cornices to preserve the traditional features in the room and combined with the modern lighting from Sensio.
