Wakemans, one of Europe’s leading privately owned construction cost and property consultants, has announced further promotions at board level to enhance those made earlier this year, designed to drive forward the firm’s growth strategy.

In the latest changes John Woodhall becomes Executive Chairman and Joint Managing Director, Dean Watson is Joint Managing Director and Michelle Woodhall takes on the role of Finance Director and Company Secretary.

The promotions follow significant changes to the senior management team announced in June.  The new roles will enable John Woodhall to place greater emphasis on the commercial and strategic development of the business and Dean Watson to focus on the delivery of Wakemans professional services.

John Woodhall says, “There are exciting prospects ahead for the business and we are committed to a strategy of growth, to develop and extend further our client base and seek wider opportunities in which to deliver high quality professional services.’’

“These changes will give the company a solid structure from which to progress and take on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.”

Leading British kitchen manufacturer Mereway has won a prestigious industry award from the trade organisation, The Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom Specialists Association – KBSA.  Mereway Kitchens was awarded the KBSA Best Product Supplier at the awards dinner that followed the AGM and conference which was held on 27 September.

Sales & Marketing Director Graham Jones says Mereway are pleased and proud to be recognised by their peers and colleagues.

“This is a special award for us because the votes come from the industry and not a panel of judges,” says Graham.   “As a family business we strive to deliver exceptional service and it is fantastic to have that recognised with this award.”

Mereway is a long time corporate member of KBSA and also sponsored the Kitchen Designer of the Year (over 30K) award which was won by Chris Smith from In-toto Kitchens, Southport.

“The content at this year’s AGM and conference was excellent,” says Graham.  “Brilliant speakers that were entertaining and positive about the future of our industry.

“The KBSA also made some significant changes to their membership criteria which will be good for retailers. There is now a more flexible framework that could encourage many more retailers to join and enjoy the benefits of KBSA membership.”
