Copper is the must have metallic in the home this season and the Gloss Copper finish from Mereway Kitchens is proving to be the hottest new finish from this season’s latest Cucina Colore collection.
The mineral finish is one of three robust acrylic doors available in a rich Copper; bold Bronze and a shimmering Pearl Basalt.
In keeping with the Cucina Colore ethos of mixing colour and texture for dramatic effect, all three work well when teamed with a wood grain finish to add interest and individuality to kitchen designs.
The extensive range of furniture that includes full height units, open shelving, glazed doors and display cabinets, allows for the creation of kitchens that are designed for living and relaxing as well as for cooking and eating. Islands feature extensively, incorporating open shelving and feature options to create unique design statements for open plan living spaces.
Graham Jones, Sales & Marketing Director of Mereway Kitchens comments, “These are exciting times for kitchen design as the ‘living kitchen’ ethos develops. Our ground breaking new finishes are leading the market and offering radical solutions for designers willing to be brave with their kitchen designs.”
Mereway is one of the few UK manufacturers to utilise a market leading edgebanding technology, for one of the most seamless finishes known in the industry. This new process allows Mereway to manufacture MFC, MDF, Acrylic and Veneer doors and decorative panels to the highest standards on a ‘made to order’ basis within very short lead times.
Graham adds, “The immaculate finish our high spec machinery produces ensures we’re at the forefront of the UK’s kitchen and bathroom furniture market. This technology gives us a real competitive advantage and is representative of the quality and excellence Mereway is all about.”

Sutton Coldfield MP Andrew Mitchell visited Severn Trent Trust Fund (STTF), a Midlands based charity that helps people out of poverty and debt, to hear about STTF’s plans for the future and the #smallchange summer campaign.
Mr Mitchell met Trustees and clients during the lunchtime visit and praised Severn Trent Water (STW) for its continued support of STTF since 1997. With funding of £55.6million it has been possible for STTF to help over half a million people in the STW region.
Mr Mitchell said: “I am delighted to give my wholehearted endorsement to the vital work that STTF are undertaking and particularly welcome the #smallchange campaign that will reach many people this summer. Their work in Sutton Coldfield and across the region makes a real difference at a critical and worrying time to families and individuals struggling to cope and I am grateful to them for the care and concern they are showing to my most vulnerable constituents”.
The #smallchange campaign will run throughout June, July and August, promoting tips and money saving ideas which will help families stretch their budgets. STTF will utilise their social media channels to run the campaign and encourage visitors to share their favourite tips, with a small monthly prize for the most popular ideas.
Alec Richmond, Group Audit Director, Severn Trent Plc commented: “Helping customers is a key objective for our company and STTF has an important role in providing essential services to get people back on their feet when they have experienced difficulties.”
Stuart Braley CEO of Auriga Services; the administrators of STTF added: “Poverty is not new, but we are all aware that levels of debt are rising and families are suffering hardship because of the stress caused by trying to cope with money worries. Demand for our services is going to continue to rise so we are grateful for the support shown by Andrew Mitchell today and the continued commitment from STW.”
